2025 Jubilee Year: Pilgrims of Hope

27/12/2024

As we look forward to the 2025 Jubilee Year, we embark on a journey together as "Pilgrims of Hope." This special year invites us to deepen our faith and strengthen our community bonds.

God Bless You!
We extend our love and assurance of prayers to all those who are sick and housebound. Please remember that our First Friday Anointing of the Sick is available to provide spiritual support and healing. We are here to support you in any way we can.

New Year Greetings
As we enter the New Year, with Fr Vijaya and Deacon Con, I extend warm greetings to you and your family. May this year be filled with peace, joy, and abundant blessings.

Welcome to New Parishioners
A heartfelt welcome to all our new parishioners! We are delighted to have you join our vibrant community and look forward to growing in faith together.

RCIA Journey In Faith
We ask for your prayers for those who are on the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) Journey in Faith, preparing to join our Catholic community this Easter. Your support is invaluable during this transformative time.

Gratitude to Our Parish Catechesis Team
A sincere word of thanks goes out to our dedicated Parish Catechesis Team. Your hard work and commitment to sharing our faith make a significant difference in the lives of our parishioners. We eagerly anticipate your continued ministry in the New Year.

Children Preparing for Sacraments
We are excited for our children preparing for their First Holy Communion in the Year of Jubilee and our young parishioners who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in June. Please keep them in your prayers as they prepare to take these important steps in their faith journey.

Christmas Offerings
Thank you for your Cards, gifts and Christmas Offerings. Please keep us and our Diocese in prayer and please support the Archbishop’s vision for the future of our diocese which he will outline in a Pastoral Letter shortly. Archbishop John’s Pastoral Letter will be available in the Contact Corner.

Altar Servers
We welcome 12 new servers to our Team. Sincere thanks to James our MC and all the Team for supporting us on the sanctuary week in and week out and especially these holy days of Christmas.

Thank you for being a part of our parish family. Together, let us embrace the hope and joy that this season and New Year brings.

Christmas message from Archbishop John Wilson

20/12/2024

In his annual Christmas message, Archbishop John Wilson said in a divided world, filled with conflict, it can be tempting to lose hope. But in times of darkness, division and pain “we must turn to our one, great living hope - the Lord Jesus. In Him, and in His message of Good News, we see the possibility of a different and better world”. This, Archbishop John said, “is what the truth of Christmas is all about. It’s a story of hope triumphing over darkness. It is the story of our salvation. It’s God’s love story towards our world and each one of us”. Looking ahead to next year, the Archbishop encourages us to turn to the Lord Jesus in Eucharistic adoration, as prayer, he said, “is the most active expression of our love and hope. And there is no more hopeful and active prayer than when we place ourselves before the Blessed Sacrament, the Real Presence of Jesus. Our Lord Jesus told His disciples to remain with Him, and keep watch with Him. This is what He invited us – me and you – to do. To stay with Him in prayer". Jubilee 2025 - Archbishop's Pastoral Letter

My Dear Parish Family

20/12/2024

As we come together to celebrate the joyous season of Christmas, I am grateful for the many blessings we have shared this year. This has been a particularly special time for me as we also mark my Ruby Jubilee — 40 years of priestly ministry. Serving alongside you in our vibrant parish community has been a profound privilege.
Thank you for your unwavering support and kindness throughout this remarkable year. Your participation in our celebrations, your dedication to our parish, and the love you show to one another genuinely embody the spirit of Christ.
I also wish to express my appreciation to our newly formed Parish Pastoral Leadership Team and our Parish Teenage Youth Council, whose efforts enrich our community and inspire our young people. A special acknowledgement goes to our outstanding parish school, where the seeds of faith and knowledge continue to flourish.
As we prepare to embark on the HOLY YEAR, beginning DECEMBER 24th, Christmas Eve, alongside Deacon Con and Father Vijaya, I invite each of you to join us in embracing the theme of “PILGRIMS OF HOPE”. This year offers us a unique opportunity to deepen our faith and strengthen our sense of community.
Throughout this Holy Year, we will strive to create memorable experiences for our parish family, fostering an environment of love, unity, and spiritual growth. Together, we will explore what it means to be pilgrims on a journey of hope, drawing closer to God and one another.
Let us open our hearts to the possibilities that lie ahead, and may this Holy Year inspire us to carry the light of hope into our lives and those around us.
Lastly, I would like to thank our dedicated Office Team, led by Theresa, Linda, and Elizabeth and supported by Deacon Con, for their tireless work in keeping our parish running smoothly. Your commitment and unwavering support are valued and much appreciated.
Many others also step forward to serve the Lord in various ways in the life of the parish and deserve our grateful thanks. Please say a prayer for their intentions.
As we celebrate the birth of our Saviour, let us remember the gift of community and the joy of sharing our faith. May this Christmas bring peace, hope, and love to each of you and your families.
I wish you all a blessed and Merry Christmas!
And a HOLY NEW YEAR
With gratitude and blessings,
Canon Michael, Fr Vijaya, and Deacon Con
