In recent weeks, there has been a growing interest among our young parishioners to join the Ministry of Readers Rota, and I am delighted to announce that the answer is YES! This ministry is open to individuals of all age groups, as we believe that the act of reading at Holy Mass is sacred and special.
To assist those who wish to participate in this important ministry, here are some tips and guidelines to enhance your experience:
1. Preparation is key: Take the time to familiarise yourself with the readings assigned to you for the Mass. Practice reading them aloud to ensure clarity and understanding.
2. Speak clearly and confidently: When reading during Mass, project your voice and speak clearly so that the congregation can hear and comprehend the Word of God.
3. Maintain a reverent demeanour: Remember that you are sharing the Word of God with the community, so approach this task with humility and reverence.
4. Dress appropriately: While no specific attire is mandated, dressing modestly and respectfully for the occasion is encouraged.
5. Seek guidance and feedback: Do not hesitate to reach out to the Ministry Coordinator (Frances Jones) or experienced readers for advice or feedback on your reading skills.
