When a child is born there is reason for much rejoicing and thanksgiving. Not very many years ago pregnancy and childbirth were an anxious time for a mother and a child and, following a safe delivery, a mother would attend church where prayers would be said for her and thanks would be offered to God.
Our parish would like to host a Mass of Thanksgiving for the gift of your child. One Sunday soon, we invite parents Godparents and family to join us for our 11am Mass. A special medal will be blessed and given to all children baptised during these past few years. We remember Baptism is a sacrament and, by water and the Holy Spirit, marks the start of our Christian faith journey. We seek to bless your family as you all endeavour to follow the Light of Christ.
To mark this Parish Day of Thanksgiving a little parish reception will be held in our hall – a VERY LARGE cake will be blessed and offered to one and all.
