ARCHBISHOP JOHN’S LENTEN REFLECTION

The distressing majesty of the cross. Archbishop John is calling on all in the Archdiocese to join him in prayer and contemplation before the crucified Lord during Lent. Archbishop John said: "I want us to do more than stumble on our Lenten journey. I want us, together, to really contemplate and meditate on the distressing majesty of the cross so that we really can take in what it means for us and our relationship with our God, the Lord Jesus Christ".

STATIONS OF THE CROSS

We often treat the Gospels as distant history, removed from our lives today. It’s easy to keep them at arm’s length and read them impersonally. Yet the Gospels are living and deeply personal. To encounter the living Jesus more fully, we must place ourselves within each scene — seeing, hearing and feeling what unfolds, and reflecting on the thoughts and emotions of those present.
The Stations of the Cross is a simple yet powerful way to walk prayerfully with Jesus and experience him afresh. Join us every Monday to Friday after 10am Mass and Fridays 6pm concluding with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at 7pm.

LENTEN HOLY HOUR

"The time you spend with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is the best time that you will spend on earth. Each moment that you spend with Jesus will deepen your union with Him and make your soul everlastingly more glorious and beautiful in Heaven...." Mother Teresa — a time of quiet reflection on The Passion of Jesus.
This time of prayer helps us to deepen our faith and grow in understanding of the Paschal Mystery of Christ. Every Sunday during Lent at 4pm.

CAFOD

Thank you so much for your generous donations and prayers for our global family. We are still raising monies for this incredible work. By giving today we are enabling our global neighbours to grow food in gardens that float on flood water and we are providing solar powered irrigation systems

RCIA – WHAT ARE SCRUTINIES?

Picture
The Scrutinies are a series of rites for adults who wish to be baptised. They are celebrated in the third, fourth, and fifth weeks of the Lenten season. This is considered a period of purification and enlightenment for the elect. There are prayers of exorcism which are intended to help purify the elect from sin and sinful desires. The overall prayers and laying on of hands are to help the elect be enlightened by the Word and grace of God. Please pray for all those who are to be received into the Church and receive the Sacraments this Easter.
The 1st Scrutiny takes place next week at the 5.30pm Vigil Mass.

SOUTHWARK DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES

I warmly invite you to join me on this year’s SOUTHWARK DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES: 21 to 28 August 2026. A pilgrimage is a great opportunity to refresh and renew our relationship with the Lord Jesus, with the help of Our Lady’s prayers. I have also found it a blessing to be able to accompany and to be inspired by other pilgrims, some of whom are sick, elderly or disabled. Last year, Deacon John Fogarty and I did a short presentation in parishes, which we would be happy to repeat in your parish, if it can be arranged. Details for booking travel and accommodation can be found here.

We also ask pilgrims to complete a form with details, including medical requirements (if any) here. For more information, please contact Canon Edward Perera or Deacon John Fogarty or myself, Bishop Paul Hendricks.

THE NATIONAL NOVENA TO ST JOSEPH

...will take place from 10-18th March 2026 at St Joseph’s Church in Maidenhead. Every year, the Mill Hill Missionaries prepare for the Feast of St Joseph, their Society Patron, with a special Novena of Masses and prayers to ask for God’s blessing on their Society’s missionary outreach, and for the intentions of all those who support their work. If you are able, and if it is possible to attend, Masses are at 10am every day of the Novena except Sunday, when it is at 11am. These Masses will be available to follow on YouTube via the Mill Hill website.
The Novena Prayer Booklet is available on request for a suggested donation of £1 per booklet to cover costs. You are welcome to send in your petitions and/or to request a Novena prayer booklet. Please write to the Novena Director at 6 Colby Gardens, Maidenhead, SL6 7GZ or email [email protected].

CHILDREN’S PLAYGROUP

Dear parents, carers and parishioners,
Since we first opened St Teresa's Tots playgroup over a year ago, our mission has been to extend the heart of St Teresa’s school and parish to the youngest members of the wider community and their families, building a space where community, friendship, and our shared Catholic values could flourish.
It is with sadness that due to consistently low numbers we have made the decision to pause the playgroup provision for now, whilst we take time to listen and understand the reasons for the decline in numbers and discern the best way forward.
As a first step we will be setting up a few discussion groups over the coming weeks. Details of these discussions will be sent out after the half term break. Please do contact the Headteacher’s PA ([email protected]) if you would like to share your views or be part of these discussions going forward.
We truly believe in the importance of these early friendships, not just for the children, but for the parents and caregivers as well.
Teresa’s Tots playgroup has supported so many of the families currently in our Nursery and I would like to thank Mrs Cleeve, our School Chaplain, Mrs Moyna and Mrs Timmins for their wonderful service and commitment to the playgroup over the past year.
Please continue to keep opportunities for the youngest members of our community in your prayers.
Mr Dachtler

Sunday Collections and Donations

Picture
Last weekend's offertory: £1,049.22.
Last weekend's second collection: CAFOD £523.22 so far...

We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to the many of you who have kindly signed up to standing orders. This is so much appreciated and valued. If you wish to contribute by cheque in lieu of plate collections, this can be sent to the presbytery: St. Teresa’s Church, 250 Bishopsford Road, Morden, Surrey, SM4 6BJ. They may be made payable to St. Teresa’s Catholic Church.

Our thanks to the families of Maureen Deb and Theresa Bearn for their generosity and thoughtfulness for the kind donation of £1,000 each in honour of the memory of Maureen and Theresa.
May God bless you and may their souls Rest In Peace and Rise In Glory.
Many thanks to those of you who have so kindly offered to set up standing orders in lieu of our Sunday plate collections. This is a most convenient method of planned giving (for all concerned); already used by so many at Morden – and is vitally important at this time. Regular standing orders can be for any amount, no matter how small – just give what you can afford. Please send a written request via the parish office with contact details.
We will be happy to receive any offerings directly by on-line banking or by standing order, which can be arranged through your bank, or by using the DONATE link here or on the parish website.

Do You Gift Aid?

The value of your donation can be increased by 25% at no extra cost to yourself, simply by gift aiding it if you are a taxpayer. The parish learns nothing about your private financial affairs. The average weekly collection between plate and standing orders, was approximately £2,400 a week (pre-COVID). If only half of that was GIFT AIDED, it would mean an extra £300 a week, or £15,600 a year to Parish funds. We are genuinely grateful to those who are Gift-Aiding. If you haven’t been doing so, please print off a Gift Aid form from the parish website. At the present time the parish income is down about £5,000 each month. Hopefully, when parish life returns to normal, we will soon see these financial worries and concerns disappear.

Please fill in the new gift aid online form or see the Parish office for a paper copy.

Thank you

Thank you to everybody who continues to support the parish through the collection, standing orders, gift aid and dropping in contributions. Online donations have seen an increase recently - A big THANK YOU FOR THOSE DONATIONS coming in via our parish website 'JUST GIVING' - Press the button marked DONATE. If you scroll down further, we also say 'Thanks' for your support and other ways you can support our parish. Again, THANK
YOU.

GIFT AID NOTICE

PLEASE COLLECT YOUR GIFT AID ENVELOPES FROM THE CONTACT CORNER
For those already signed up, Gift Aid Envelopes will be available during this weekend 3/4th April.
