Our hearts beat with thanks for the faithful service to parish life of Margaret O’Donovan. For more than 30 years Margaret has been on the front-line; as Parish Secretary, Catechist and member of the Parish Council. She gave unstinting love and support to her husband, Deacon John and outstanding support to parish priests and seminarians. Many in the parish know her as a confidante. The gift to listen, the gift of kindness, the gift of friendship and support. A prayer warrior. A friend you can rely on and trust.
Margaret is retiring from active ministry but will continue to play a part in parish life for which we are grateful. Her willingness to volunteer and help out in the Parish Office is valued and greatly appreciated.
Next Sunday’s 11a.m Mass will be celebrated in thanksgiving for Margaret’s decades of service. At a later date, we will have a parish function in her honour, which is richly deserved. In the meantime we hope to put together a booklet of good wishes, prayers and memories.
