Saturday 13th April – We are now well into the Holy Season of Lent which is rich in blessings for all of us. May the Good Lord bless all your spiritual efforts in these days to come? For all involved in ministry in our life of our parish we invite you to a day of Recollection
10am Holy Mass – For your intentions. 10.40am Tea & Coffee in the parish centre. 10.40am - 11am Sacrament of Confession. 11.30am Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Spiritual Reflection. 12.30pm – 1.30pm Lunch. 1.30pm Talk and Benediction. 2.30pm Day concludes – Sacrament of Confession until 3.00pm. Adoration continues. We pray for the children who make their First Confession this Saturday and those making it next Saturday, we keep them and their parents and catechists in our prayers. God be in my head, and in my understanding: empty, then fill my mind in the silence of Adoration so that l may understand your will.
Praying the Way of the Cross as a devotion began in Jerusalem with Christian pilgrims tracing the spots linked with the Passion and Death of Jesus. When travel to the Holy Land became difficult, churches began including fourteen stations on their walls where the faithful could make the “Stations of the Cross”. This spiritually is intended to help Christ’s followers join their own sufferings to His. Our Stations here at Saint Teresa’s were donated by the Gillman family in memory of their daughter Margaret Gillman who was called to Eternal Life at a young age. As you pray the Stations in this holy season of Lent please remember to say a prayer for Margaret and the Gillman family. As a parish we offer you a chance to pray with others or you will find a choice of booklets to pray by yourself or with family and friends, in the Narthex. May the Lord bless your Lenten season and especially your Way of the Cross. |
