Dear Friends, proclaiming the word of God is an important ministry in the life of the Church. From the Old Testament bible texts, we learn about God, God’s law and the foundations of our faith, and in the New Testament we learn about the life of Jesus, what it means to follow him, and how to become a “Christian”. So, it follows that the world of God should be proclaimed clearly and truthfully by those trusted with this ministry.
My Lord, we give thanks for those who through their ministry we hear the word of God proclaimed week by week , may the words they speak bring salt and light to our hearts and minds, and may we continue to learn and grow in spirit and in truth. Thank you to one and all involved in this powerful ministry. May the Truth, the Wisdom and the Holy Spirit bless you as you continue to proclaim God’s word here at Saint Teresa’s. If anyone is keen to join this Team Ministry, young or old, please let us know. Training is available if needed. Antonina Urbani RIP, Harry Bateman RIP, Maureen Smith RIP, Margaret Leahy RIP,
Canon Michael Bunce RIP, Fr Jim Hurley RIP and Fr Paul Teece RIP. We remember them and their families at this time of sorry and entrust their souls to the Risen Christ! May They Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory. The message of Easter – the Resurrection of Jesus – takes us beyond the Cross to the joy and hope that comes from seeing the Risen Lord. It was Christ risen who allowed his disciples to fully know that God exists, that there is a future for every human being and that our cry for unending life is indeed answered in Him. This is the true message of Easter!
We send out our blessing to every home, every parishioner, to our sick and housebound, to every family and to those who join us online. Easter calls us to promote with renewed vigour the sanctity of human life with grateful and joyful hearts. Easter calls us to move beyond the tomb with conviction to share the good news of the Resurrection with one another. Easter calls us to courageously follow Jesus Christ, the Risen One, and to boldly proclaim that out of darkness and suffering comes new life. This Easter, in our troubled world, our troubled times, let us rise up to meet the world of our times and with the witness of our faith, aim to make a positive difference. We need to share our Easter faith, the Good News of Jesus’ resurrection. May you receive from Heaven every blessing as we continue our journey through the Easter Season and indeed the rest of this year. Thank you for your support and prayers. |
