Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, to Thee I consecrate and offer up my person and my life, my actions, trials and sufferings, that my entire being may henceforth only be employed in loving, honouring and glorifying Thee. This is my irrevocable will, to belong entirely to Thee, and do all for Thy love, renouncing with my whole heart all that can displease Thee. I take Thee, O Sacred Heart, for the sole object of my love, the protection of my life, the pledge of my salvation, the remedy of my frailty and inconstancy, the reparation for all the defects of my life, and my secure refuge at the hour of my death. Be Thou, O Most Merciful Heart, my justification before God Thy Father, and screen me from His anger which I have so justly merited. I fear all from my own weakness and malice, but placing my entire confidence in Thee, O Heart of Love, I hope all from Thine infinite Goodness. Annihilate in me all that can displease or resist Thee. Imprint Thy pure love so deeply in my heart that I may never forget Thee or be separated from Thee. I Beseech Thee, through Thine infinite Goodness, grant that my name be engraved upon Thy Heart, for in this I place all my happiness and all my glory, to live and to die as one of Thy devoted servants. Amen.
As we go to press with this weeks Parish Newsletter, it is good to report that we have no funerals pending. Over these past few months, we have prayed for parishioners called to Eternal Life. We have also supported some families who have lost loved ones in other parts of the world and some who have died in other parts of the country. When life returns to normal, we will offer all families the chance together with family and friends for a Memorial Requiem Mass here at St. Teresa’s.
Dear friends in Christ, in the name of Jesus and His Church we continue to gather in love and prayer. Our prayers in unity with all family and friends of the deceased continue to be placed before our Heavenly Father. Holy Lord, almighty and eternal God, hear the prayers of our Parish family for your servants, whom you have summoned out of this world. Forgive their sins and failings and grant each one a place of refreshment, light and peace. Please let them pass unharmed through the gates of death to dwell with the blessed in light, as you promised to Abraham and his children forever. Accept our loved ones, our parishioners and those whose anniversaries occur about this time, into Your safe keeping. We commend one and all to your Divine Mercy. We thank you for this time to remember them and pray for them. May their good deeds go with them into Your Heavenly Kingdom. Amen. Tens of thousands are still falling victim to Covid19 around the world. We send out a blessing to all nations from our parish family.
God of Mercy, please hear our fervent prayer for all who suffer from the Coronavirus. May those who are infected receive the best possible treatment and the comfort of your healing presence. May their caregivers, families and neighbours be shielded from the onslaught of the virus. We commend those who have died to your Eternal Mercy. Give solace and comfort to those who grieve the loss of family members or those who are missing a good friend. Protect and guide those who strive to find a cure, that their work may conquer the disease and restore communities to wholeness and health. Help us to rise above fear. We seek the blessing of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus, Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Jude and St. Joseph. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen. Please continue to keep in your prayers, Maureen Smith, Irene Ward, Irene Matthews, Jean Lue, Ruba Santiapillai, Baby Alexander Lynch, Joseph Lunn, Erika Geddes, Barry Falcon, Denise Waaldjk, Lena McBride and Valerie Somerset. For those in hospital, care homes, those self- isolating and those patients in hospice care.
