The Ursuline Prep has a final virtual Open Event for the academic year on the 16th June. Parents are able to sign up at Open Events: https://www.ursulineprep.org.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of Steven. Married just three years ago to his lovely Louise. They lived not far from Saint Teresa’s and sat in our midst praying alongside of us on a regular basis. Many know Louise’s Mum & Dad, Kathleen and Jim Coyle.
Steven’s funeral Mass will take place here on Wednesday 30th June at 12noon. Fr. Kevin Robinson, parish priest at Greenwich, a long standing family friend, will be presiding at Steven’s Requiem Mass and at the Crematorium at 2pm. Please continue to keep Steven in your prayers and all branches of his family. May Steven Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory. On the feast of Corpus Christi blessed by the prayers of the Holy Mother Church Hedy left for Eternal Life to join her parents and the Saints of Heaven. She leaves behind her sister Mary, who we keep in prayer as she journeys with the Cross of Love and Suffering. Both Hedy and Mary are much-loved parishioners. Both have been faithful servants of the Parish for more than 40 years. The residents of Morton Road will miss Hedy and we are sure looking forward to seeing Mary out of hospital in the days to come. We thank God for Hedy’s life and her witness to her Catholic faith. This daughter of Co. Galway, Ireland, one of four children, cherished her Irish roots and prayed for the land of her birth. Her niece Bridget McGloin, who lived across the road from her family home, gave her and Mary fantastic support. God Bless you, Hedy. May you Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory. We offer our condolences to the family and friends of Eva Sereny. We keep her in prayer as we journey to the day of her funeral, Wednesday 16th June. Eva’s life was rich in blessings. Born in Hungary, Eva launched her career during the late sixties here in London, photographing legendary figures from the era, Marlon Brando, Paul Newman, Sean Connery to Audrey Hepburn and Raquel Welch. The quality of her images enabled her to travel the world, her work being featured on the cover of major international magazines like Life, Vanity Fair, Newsweek, Time – her work was seen as outstanding. She also won a BAFTA for her short film The Dress. Eva was living out the final years of her life in Rome, Sydney and here in London. She had wonderful support from Frank Charnock who like many others will miss her very much. May Eva Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory. The new model of support, offered by the The Agency for Evangelisation and Catechesis and developed with Archbishop John, entitled Some Definite Service, is intended to provide direct and practical support for people engaged in evangelisation, catechesis and adult formation.
How could your parish benefit from Some Definite Service, our response to Archbishop John’s call to be an ‘evangelising and missionary archdiocese?’ No parish is the same and we have a rich and diverse range across the diocese. We want to recognise all the good work that is already being undertaken and then reflect together to see the areas where growth is possible.
