We understand that passing on the beauty and richness of our Catholic faith is no small task and we greatly appreciate your dedication to this mission. This event is specifically for all our Parish Readers and we want to express our gratitude for your continuous support and dedication to your ministry in our parish.
As you know, the proclamation of The Word of God is a powerful ministry within the Church, and as a Readers/Lectors, you bring the Living Word of God to the liturgical assembly. It is through you that God Speaks to the gathered faithful at Holy Mass. We deeply appreciate the important role you play-in our Worship at all of our services. Furthermore, we would like to extend to you the honour and privilege of being Commissioned as Readers during this special event. This Commissioning will serve as recognition of your commitment and will further empower you in your parish ministry. We kindly request that you prioritise this important day and mark it in your calendars. We look forward to coming together as a community to deepen our understanding of the Word Of God and to cultivate a spirit of renewal and formation. The Sacred Heart Parish, Wimbledon seeks a Parish Faith Minister for Children, Young Persons and Families. The person appointed will assist the Parish Priest to promote the mission of the Church to the children and young people of the parish, based on the principle of parents as first educators, and be responsible for co-ordinating First Holy Communion and Confirmation programmes. The post is open to committed and practising Catholics, and an Enhanced DBS check will be required. Salary: £29,736 a year, for a 35-hour week.
