A plenary indulgence, applicable only to the holy souls, may be gained once, in any church, either on ALL SOULS DAY, on the preceding or following Sunday or on the FEAST of ALL SAINTS, namely a visit to a church, where the Our Father and Creed are recited, sacramental confession, Holy Communion and prayer for the Holy Father’s Intentions. Those who visit a cemetery between 1st and 8th November and pray for the faithful departed, may obtain a plenary indulgence, applicable to the holy souls (and at other times, a partial indulgence.)
Our Lady Queen of Peace, pray for us. Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted, pray for us. Our Lady, Help of Christians, pray for us. Our Lady, Health of the Sick, pray for us. Our Lady Seat of Wisdom, pray for us. Our Lady, Mother of our Parish, pray for us. Our Lady of Heaven and all Nations, pray for us. Be assured of our prayers and spiritual support in these challenging times; for our country, for our families and friends. In these final days of October pray the Rosary, seek Our Lady’s help and assistance as we face the effects of the global pandemic together. We will pray for those you knew and loved here on earth. Throughout the month Masses will be offered for the happy repose of their souls. Please let us have a list of names of family and friends who you wish to be remembered. Their names and that of many others will rest in front of the Altar. Parishioners who have died this year will be added. A Holy Souls box will be provided on the steps of the Sanctuary for you to use. You can put in as many names as you wish. An offering, a stipend, would always be appreciated. Penelope Brummel R.I.P.
Please keep in your prayers the soul of Penny as she journeys into God’s kingdom. Her life and her witness to the Catholic faith were exemplary. Penny’s funeral arrangements are being organised by her first cousin Myrtle. May Penny Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory! Maureen Debs R.I.P. I only got to know Maureen recently. My visits to her family home bought her spiritual comfort and inner peace. Maureen was married to Saj for 53 years, blessed two sons, Paul and Robin. This weekend would have seen her celebrate her 74th Birthday. Life began in Ireland. Maureen was a member of a loving and large family. Her baptism took place in Co. Clare. She was bright, witty, kind and caring. A lady blessed with a loving husband and very proud of her two sons and her grandchildren. Maureen’s passport to Heaven was stamped with the Last Rites and the Lord of Divine Mercy’s blessing. May Maureen Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory. |
