Free advice for people living in private rented homes Monday June 14th to Sunday June 20th.
People living in private rented home are much more likely to have problems with disrepair and high rents and less likely to know their rights. That is why I am asking for your help in letting the members of your community know about the Renters Rights’ Awareness Week being organised by the pressure group, Generation Rent, between June 14th and Sunday June 20th.
Attached is an information sheet with details of sessions between 6 and 7pm each evening giving advice on getting help with paying the rent, getting repairs done and what to do if you are threatened with eviction.
The fact sheets are available in a number of different languages and links to the advice sessions are available by signing up online to www.generationrent.org/rights.
It is a scandal that one in eight private rented homes in England are unsafe to live in. Overcrowding and poor housing conditions are significant safety concerns which will be effecting the health, safety and wellbeing of many in your community.
