In these weeks leading to Lent, each of the Gospel readings we listen to at Mass are from Matthew Ch's. 5, 6 and 7, contain some of the most powerful of Jesus's teachings. At the same time, our Sisters and Brothers at the Archdiocese of Southwark led by our Archbishop John Wilson continue to encourage us through the words of Saint John Henry Newman "God has created me to do Him SOME DEFINITE SERVICE". We are all called to learn, live and teach the Good News. We are called to Evangelise, to Catechise, to give Formation. The Gospel readings place that calling:
Happy are you ... (from 4th Sunday)
You are the salt of the earth ...You are the light of the world ... in the sight of men ... seeing your good works, they may give the praise to your Father in heaven (from 5th Sunday).
