The word Novena originates from the Latin ‘Novem’ meaning nine. Novenas consist of a prayer, or series of prayers that are said at the same time for nine consecutive days or for nine hours. St. Teresa of Calcutta used the MEMORARE as her emergency hourly Novena to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
